After months of effort by Canadians across the country (over 92,000 members) (including over 650 Calgarians) voicing our concerns about the copyright amendment, the Stephen Harper lead Government of Canada simply refused to listen. Two years ago in 2006 Calgary International Film Festival, I had a lot of fun watching the fashion documentary âViktor & Rolf: Because Weâre Worth Itâ. This year, I highly recommend you check out the 2008 fashion documentary âJay McCarroll: Eleven Minutesâ about Jay McCarroll, the 2005 Project Runway winner. I actually don't know Jay before this documentary, but I still enjoy the film very much. The film is directed by Michael Selditch and Robert Tate.

In 2006, my emerging producer class teacher Nancy Laing invited David Schultz to guest lecture and share with us his insights in making films. So it was my great pleasure to watch and review writer/director David's latest film 45 R.P.M. (see telefilm info) and chatted with him yesterday morning. In 45 R.P.M., the two young leads (Jordan Gavaris playing Parry and Justine Banszky playing Luke) did amazing work like pros even they had never acted before. I had a wide ranging interview with Min Sook Lee asking her about the film, the film making process, and asked follow up questions that weren't covered in the film. Here is an excerpt of the film synopsis, Korea is a divided nation. The psychic scar shared by millions of people, separated from their families during the Korean War in the 1950s, is symbolized by the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) dividing communist North from capitalist South. Here, along this infamous border, award-winning filmmaker...

I had a very insightful chat with Patrick Reed, director of Triage: Dr. James Orbinski's Humanitarian Dilemma. Enjoy. Here is an excerpt of the film synopsis, The act of triage is the ultimate humanitarian nightmare. Racing against time with limited resources, relief workers make split-second decisions: who gets treatment; who gets food; who lives; who dies. This impossible dilemma understandably haunts humanitarians like Dr. James Orbinski, who accepted the 1999 Nobel Peace Prize on behalf of...
